Mentor Squad
In collaboration with the Medical Education Department
Now in its third year, the Mentor Squad is a series of online professional development workshops designed specifically for all mentors at the College of Medicine. Sessions are conducted via Zoom and aim to equip mentors with practical skills to support their mentees across various academic, personal, and career-related challenges.
2025-2026 Year's Sessions
Six sessions were held, led by Dr. Ayman Mohamed, Dr. Raed Albar, Dr. Faisal Ikram, and Ms. Reem Masoud. Topics included:
- Mentor Readiness Training – Roles, responsibilities, and resources
- Navigating Exams – Supporting students emotionally, study plans, SAQ/OSPE strategies
- Navigating Student Results – Decoding result slips, grade weightage, CGPA, and using the Strengths and Opportunity Report (SOR)
- Guiding Students Through Critical Crossroads – Academic plans for students who have failed 9+ credit hours (led by Ms. Reem Masoud & Dr. Rojina Fath Alrahman)
- Career Planning – Helping students explore options and make informed decisions
- Financial Struggles – Mentoring students facing financial difficulties
Recognition All participating mentors received certificates of attendance.
